  • Big props but still lacking

Ever since my tried-and-true indie bike-specific short manufacturer closed down (RIP RYB) I've been dreading finding a replacement. I bought these because they're black, look good, have enough length to ride comfortably in, and more-or-less fit. After a season of riding, here are my thoughts: 1) Are my thighs and butt really that big? I didn't think so, but while these fit well at the waist in a 6, they are in now way loose fitting in the thigh as pictured on the model. To say nothing of the (verging on painful) tightness at the groin/seam area caused by the size of my bum? I'm pretty sure I'm a regular sized enough human and have more-or-less typical proportions for an avid cyclist. Sizing up requires me to wear a belt or sag, but is totally required for crotch comfort. 2) Great length. They cover enough of my thighs so that my saddle doesn't chafe and I have some skin protection on the mtb, but short enough that they don't say "goofy dad shorts". 3) The way the seam rubs is so so so painful, especially on extended rides. Mitigated by the use of a chamois, but I'm sick of having to size up and wear a chamois even for my short commute or a few hours romping around the city. For the love of dog, please make seamless (gusseted) shorts. 4) The zipper doesn't stay up very well. All in all these are a reasonably good option in a sea of terrible, terrible options and I'd probably buy another pair - just a size up.

REALLLLY want to love these BUT the front zipper is a JOKE

LOOK: SUPES cute and i love the material and look and features give it a more utility look! FIT: is ok, def smaller so size up one to have a good fit! LOTS of gapping in the back waist, so for those who don't like belts (cutting into you) your SOL. I'm short and would prefer like 1.5" off the inseam. I roll mine up and that's ok but it does cause some chaffing. POCKETS: Rad! love how the back ones make my butt look FEATURES: just enough and not too many! ZIPPER:OK whyyyyyyy whyyyyyy WHYYYYYY is the front zipper not locking!? I literally CAN NOT wear these because no matter what my fly is open ALL THE TIME. I want so badly to love these and I keep trying to wear them and make it work. BUT This one factor is huge IMHO so I have to give 1 star :( SORRRYYYY!!!!

good fit, solid construction, order up

fabric is medium weight, soft with good stretch; construction feels solid and fit works for me. i love the pocket features, especially the rear zipper in the back. from other reviews and the sizing, i was worried about the fit not working, especially being too tight through the hips/butt and thigh. i ordered 2 sizes up from what i usually get for "street" clothes. there's a little gapping in the back at the waist, but that's ok with me. sharing my measurements to help others find their size: i'm 5'10", ~170lb, 34" natural waist, 38" hip, 43" butt, 30" inseam --> size 14 fits me well.

    I'd buy these shorts again.

Comfortable. Fits as expected. Great for biking around town.

    Sadly, very disappointing purchase

I was really excited for these pair of shorts, and ordered the size that I typically wear in other brands. However, they were extremely tight and I couldn't even get them to button. I ordered the next size up, and these were also way, way too tight and very uncomfortable. I am hesitant to purchase the next size up, which would be double my current size, because I'm not sure if they will also be too tight or fit me strangely. I'm really disappointed and so sad they haven't worked out as I have been looking forward to a pair of these for quite some time now!
