  • Amazing travel bag

Just traveled to Australia for two weeks without checking a bag. The bag was everything I needed and more

    The bag.

This is the bag. If it won't hold it, you probably don't need to take it. Quality of even the small details is tops.

    Rugged Do Everything Duffle

Instantly a favorite. Thoughtful blend of classic styling, compartmentalized design, and Chrome's rugged construction. Equally good fit for weekends, the office, or hitting up the gym.

    Perfect for weekly travel

I'm a road warrior Monday thru Thursday of every week for work and this bag has been perfect for me. It easily hauls three days worth of clothes and I've never had any issue fitting it into an overhead bin on small regional flights. The separate compartment to keep shoes from getting clothes dirty is very large and easily fits my bulky running shoes. The biggest feature that has helped with travel is the sleeve that allows the surveyor bag to hitch hike on a rolling suitcase (the sleeve is very wide, so the bag does occasionally slide off to one side). Overall, and like all of my other Chrome bags, I am very happy with the purchase and highly recommend.

Almost what you'd expect of a Chrome duffle bag

Recently took this bag for a spin on a trip across the US. I love how much this bag can fit and all of the strap configurations. It comfortably fit enough clothes/gear to last me for a ~7 day trip. I had some difficulty adjusting to 'backpack mode' since you really can't put the bag on how you would a regular backpack with attached straps- once you get an arm through one 'loop' the opposite side immediately cinches down against the bag. One of the main reasons I bought the duffle was to be more hands free, so I was a little surprised at the difficulty to put it on as a backpack when fully loaded with about 30 lbs of gear/clothes. All of the hardware is metal...except where it counts the most. The shoulder strap has plastic clips that attach to plastic D rings on the bag. Not the kind of cost reduction I would expect from Chrome. Plus while walking when the bag is loaded with weight, they make a terrible squeaking noise that makes the bag feel cheaply made. I'm not concerned with the durability of the plastic parts, but they certainly undercut the expectation for quality construction that one might seek from Chrome. If I could change one thing about the bag, it would be a shoulder strap with metal hardware. I love the shoe pocket, so I can keep shoes and other dirty things away from my clean clothes.
