I bought this backpack for a two week solo trip in Thailand. Since I had international transfers and multiple plane flights on small planes in Thailand, I really didn't want to lug a suitcase. I bought a compression bag for my clothes (by eagle creek... essentially giant zip lock bag) to maximize space, and managed to fit 6 t-shirts, 6 pairs of socks/underwear, two shorts and two swimsuits all into the front compartment. This was more than enough clothes for the 15 days with the help of hotel laundry service (some hotels were giving me 2 items per day for free). The back compartment held my toiletries, camera, kindle, chargers, and eventually small nicknacks I picked up along the way. The extra pockets were great for quick access to phone charging cables, and the back small pocket was perfect for securing passport and wallet when needed. I managed to pull off this photo trip with just my Leica and an iPhone, not bringing a laptop or iPad which inevitably would have distracted me from my trip. But if I wanted to bring it there would have been room to add either or both to the sleeve. Overall, I was blown away that it worked so well, and look forward to taking this bag on my future adventures.

    Extended Weekend Perfection

    5

As usual, Chrome has built the Summoner extremely well. Strong seams, sturdy handles, and exceptional zippers. Its construction allows you to pack a bit more than most packs of its size, and with the corner clips there is no worries of blowing out a zipper. Depending on the season, you can easily get three day's worth of clothing into its well organized interior. You'd be pushing the limits for a week's worth of clothes. Especially with cold weather layers. For most three day excursions, it's perfect.

    Weekender Replacement

This is a perfect replacement for my roller board for weekends or short business trips. Every time I thought it was full, I was able to find a new crevice of packing space.

    New weekender

    5

This was perfect for a long weekend in New York. Outer pockets for everything I needed quick access to, and when I thought I was totally out of room, I was able to slightly rearrange everything and bring some extra souvenirs home. This is going to replace my weekender for most of my shorter trips.

Chrome designed the perfect carry backpack

    5

As with every other chrome bag I own the Summoner gets the job done. I can pack a couple of days worth of clothes and my laptop for traveling. The front access zipper makes it easy to pull out toiletries to get through airport security quickly. The same is true about the computer access zipper on top. I like how it opens up and unfolds like a suitcase and there are pockets for everything. Well designed and well built.
