Form Meets Function

We have evolved our Chrome Storm™ Cobra to the next level. Now with three layer waterproof, breathable twill nylon to keep you dry. We designed it with the innovative Chrome Raglan Reveal pattern, allowing for mobility and reflective visibility while on the bike, but disappearing when relaxed off the bike. We've also lengthened the arms and torso and and added a rear stow pocket, updating every detail to create the ultimate urban riding shell.

Raglan Reveal

One of our main missions at Chrome is to build performance gear for the bike that doesn’t look like over-the-top technical gear. We designed our Raglan Reveal technology to show off reflective hits on the shoulders of the jacket when you’re reaching for the handle bars but stay hidden when you get to the office or the bar. It’s urban cycling gear at its best. One of our main missions at Chrome is to build performance gear for the bike that doesn’t look like over-the-top technical gear. This will be the last rain jacket I will ever need to buy. It keeps me dry, warm with out making me sweat heavily. Nice job designing this jacket.

    Can't stop, Won't stop Jacket

Surprising how solid this jacket is. My first experience with the Raglan Reveal material technology. I live in Michigan and bike 365 that means everything from rain and 36 degrees on my commute, to ice and snow and 16 after i get out of work. This jacket is warm yet breathable doesn't feel too hot as most winters jackets do when cycling. It has held up to a couple good rains and snow storms so far amd has passed with flying colors. Hey Chrome if you ever need a product tester for extremely harsh environments hit me up! I pair this with a chrome backpack and shoes for my daily commute gear. The products also match well which is a plus.

A Good But Nearly Great Commuting Jacket

I've been wearing this jacket commuting daily 10 miles each way in Chicago from September through November so I feel I've put it through its paces. I've worn it in temps ranging from humid 70's to cold, windy days in the 20's and everything in between. It's a nice looking jacket. I wear it off the bike and it looks pretty cool. The material does make a bit of a rustling sound but I don't mind it. This jacket is not suited for warm weather. It does not breath well and despite its 2 way zipper it does not have pit zips to vent heat. On a warm wet day I'd end up soaked in sweat rather than rain. Pit zips would really help! I've been impressed by the Storm Cobra 2 in cold weather. I've worn only a t-shirt under it comfortably down to 30 odd degrees when riding hard, which is remarkable considering this is not a heavy jacket. Any colder and I add a merino wool sweater and I end up unzipping to vent heat after 20 or 30 minutes. Zipped all the way up it offers great neck protection and the soft material around the top makes it very comfortable. However, the zipper does get stuck easily. In particular, the soft material around the neck is designed as a sort of flap that because of its shape gets in the way of the zipper. Zipping above this flap off the bike can take a great deal of effort and aggravation and when riding it is absolutely impossible. The other reviews describing cracking of the reflective material on this jacket are correct. I can already see that it will not last. Very disappointing. The inconspicuous design is great but c'mon cracking after a few months? I bought this jacket at a very deep discount, if I'd paid full price I'd be absolutely furious, as is I'm really annoyed. Get with it Chrome, and seriously no pit zips? This is a good cold weather riding jacket suited to city commuting. Some design/construction adjustments could make this a great jacket. As is, do not pay $200 for this jacket, find a sale.

    Great Jacket

I ordered online and it only took like 2 days to come. The jacket is just as I expected, great build quality, super comfy and it looks rad! I haven't worn it for a long period of time yet, but I'm definitely pleased with the purchase so far.
