Form Meets Function

We have evolved our Chrome Storm™ Cobra to the next level. Now with three layer waterproof, breathable twill nylon to keep you dry. We designed it with the innovative Chrome Raglan Reveal pattern, allowing for mobility and reflective visibility while on the bike, but disappearing when relaxed off the bike. We've also lengthened the arms and torso and and added a rear stow pocket, updating every detail to create the ultimate urban riding shell.

Raglan Reveal

One of our main missions at Chrome is to build performance gear for the bike that doesn’t look like over-the-top technical gear. We designed our Raglan Reveal technology to show off reflective hits on the shoulders of the jacket when you’re reaching for the handle bars but stay hidden when you get to the office or the bar. It’s urban cycling gear at its best. One of our main missions at Chrome is to build performance gear for the bike that doesn’t look like over-the-top technical gear. I live in a city that recently adopted electric scooters, and I wasn't gonna let a little bit of rain get in the way of a 15 min "commute" to work. I've used it, and it's awesome sauce: my phone stays secure and dry so I can "weather the storm", on my ride and still listen to music, the rain doesn't get to my face at all, and its just an all around nice jacket.

Techincal jacket that does what it's asked.

Very nice, but very technical. Would only recommend if you live in a place 50degrees or below. My favorite feature are the fleece linings in the pocket - true life savers if you're in a windy City.

    great rain jacket

I ordered a large because I take a large in some Chrome clothes but had to return it; it was too bulky--I'm 6" and slim and a medium fit great--I can still fit a hoodie under it if I want to layer it, but it doesn't balloon out if you just wear it alone--sleeve length is good (ie, enough to cover if you're leaned over the bars)

    Fantastic jacket!

Using this on a recent bike trip in the Anza Borrego Desert it was really a life saver when things turned really cold and windy. It was like a bomb proof shield against it all. It feels a little heavy and rigid at first but for what it does it seemed necessary. Having said that, my complaint is not about it's function but about the weight and bulk of it when you have to stow it in a pannier or carry with you on your bike some other way. It is bulky and seems heavy, but it's not so heavy compared to similar jackets. I've tried the ultra-light rain jackets from the popular moutaineering companies, and NONE of them are waterproof. This one IS waterproof, and when it rained on my 2nd day of riding, it prooved itself again. So I consider it a very good purchase and will just have to adjust to it's bulk in packing. Oh, the pockets couldn't be better placed. Rad design!

    Arm holes too high :(

I reaaaaaalllly wanted this jacket to work out. I ordered a small and I'm 5'9" with a slim body and the arm holes were so high that it cut off blood flow and was not comfortable when I'm riding position on a road bike. So I ordered a medium, arm holes were still a tad high but the jacket was way too big. Besides this issue the jacket was everything I had hoped for but sadly had to return because of the arm holes. Bummer.
