  • If Nelly rode bikes he'd buy two pair

Unbelievably comfortable on the bike and off. I love that these keep my feet warm on winter commutes. The sole is good for pedaling, but not as stiff as other Chrome shoe models. This makes is a great casual kick in winter weather. I loved the style and fit so much ( I have a narrow heel, wide toe box, but flattish/low volume foot) I bought another pair to store away for the eventual day my first pair blows out... But they're two years old and going strong so I anticipate that won't be for a while.

Sorry. Really, really wanted to love these for winter commuting but they're a total pain as I've repeatedly had to repair the soles and the toe surround rubbery-things that are in just the right place to catch on the pedals. No stars.

I've wear and ride in these everyday since x-mas and I so glad I got the set. They have kept it tight, no slack or sag in shape. I'm buying a 2nd pair in black with the 10% I'm getting for writing a review because this boot dose it for me. It checks all my boxes on a real level. Cheers Chrome!

    Not the usual Chrome quality

I bought a pair of the amber boots during the Black Friday sale, I sized up as was recommended by a handful of other reviews on here. They are a TOUCH too long, but the width is absolutely perfect. I'm usually a 10 and I went with a 10.5 and I'm really glad I did. The boots looked great and stylish, but at first leather was extremely stiff and made the whole thing pretty uncomfortable. After a couple of weeks, they broke in and formed to my foot and now they are my most comfortable shoe that I own! I'm a college student here in the PNW and I commute to campus via bicycle--let me tell you, these shoes are made for being in bike straps. The soles are stiff enough that it makes pedaling much easier, but not so stiff that it makes walking painful. On top of that I've been caught in some insane rainstorms these past few weeks and these shoes have kept my feet completely dry. I also commute with the Barrage backpack and storm rain pants, which are also phenomenal waterproof products from Chrome. UNFORTUNATELY, The leather is showing signs of excessive wear right where the foot bends and creases the shoe/where the pedal straps sit, the laces frayed and have since snapped and the rubber sole of the shoe is now pealing from the leather. I've been using these boots for just under two months but they are falling apart and are quickly looking like they've taken years of abuse. Like I mentioned, I own a handful of other products from chrome and love every one of them so I'm not sure if I got a lemon pair or if the quality is just not there for these boots. Really unfortunate because at first these were by far the best pair of shoes I've ever owned. So.. if you do end up buying them, just be aware that they may not be as solid as they appear.

I purchased a black pair and a red pair about 5 years ago. I wear both pairs frequently. Still intact and look good now that they are aged. I WOULD LOVE TO BUY MORE, but you guys don't make a size 6 1/2 anymore. Please add this size so ladies like myself can continue wearing our dream shoe.
