I have loved these shoes but after a year or so of regular wear the adhesive around the edge of the shoe, mating the canvas with the sole begins to break down. It has happened on two of my own pair (a black shoe and a tan shoe), And my son has experienced the same issue with both of his pair. The sad thing is the sole is hardly worn. The laces are hard worn. But the canvas is separating from the rubber and that gap fills with debris. I called customer service and they refused to do anything about it. More surprising was I also asked for a recommendation on the type of adhesive I should try to repair the shoe myself, and they refused to reply to that request. The warranty refusal was disappointing because mine were very close to two years old, however, the hours of wear were really low as I'd only really worn them on special occasions (more of a fashion statement). My son's shoes had much more wear hours on them, so I had kind of been made aware what might happen to mine but was hoping he just had a lemon. Anyway, I have always found Chrome construction of decent quality and promoted the brand to people outside of the cycling arena. But 3 pairs of shoes, all purchased at different times, with the same issue... This experience, as well as the lack of support and recommendations was super disappointing.
