i got this shoe to replace well worn (and well loved) Chrome Midway Pros. I was going to get the leather, but Chrome had the canvas on sale for just under $70. That was too good of a deal too pass up. Further, I could tell that Chrome discontinued the Midway Pros to replace them with the 415. The 415 is a much better shoe. It is better constructed, more comfortable and more true to size than my Midway Pros. Plus I don't slip like I used to on my Midways with my SPD cleats. While I can still here my cleats "click" and "crunch" while walking on my new 415's, they feel very stable. So i no longer wear my mountain biking shoes to commute. I now where my 415's everywhere. They even look great with a nice pair of slacks.

They're definitely waterproof, the leather does soak up water though. The tongue is not a separate piece from the rest of the shoe, this helps keep water out. Like any other waterproof item that you wear, it makes you sweat. So you gotta air your feet out once in a while and change socks because it gets gross. Keeps water out, keeps sweat in.

Here's the biggest issue, though: "Skid resistant contact rubber on the sole." These shoes are in no way skid resistant. In fact, you'll be losing traction and almost eating it constantly. Anything metal on the ground is bad for these shoes. Along with other things you don't even think about usually. Like stairs, sewer covers, painted signs, etc. These are probably the most slippery shoes I own, which is ridiculous.

Only had them for 2weeks but they're holding up good. I wished I could of gone easy on installing the cleats I over tightened one of the screws and stripped :(

Very narrow, feels one full size too small, material is tough so won't break in.

As said above, the Pro Workboots are well made, comfortable, and stylish. I use these purely for walking during the day and going out at night and they have fair well. As for their performance on the bike, I cannot comment.
