The MXD Collection: Taking on Tokyo
There are cities all over the world that really embody the grit and possibility that made us start building bags for moving through the urban landscape over 20 years ago. Maybe none more so than Tokyo. The people, the neon, the culture and the food – everything about Tokyo drew us to start our first international crew there in 2014 and open our first international Chrome Hub there in 2016. In 2017, when the folks from Chrome Japan came to us with some bag design ideas, we were stoked.
Introducing the MXD Collection – minimalist bags inspired by navigating the crowds of Shibuya, bringing just the essentials on a packed Tokyo Metro car or hopping out to Osaka on the bullet train.
The simplest, most economical bag in the MXD collection. With two quick access pockets in front and a zippered compartment that fits an iPad mini, the MXD Notch is the ideal bag for a commuter or city-traveler who needs the essentials close at hand when space is at a premium.
A robust but economical bag made for city living. The super-tough sling has enough organization to keep it all where it needs to be. The MXD Segment is an urban commuter’s best friend that packs a surprising amount of gear into a slim, streamlined silhouette.
A streamlined backpack made for those who travel ultralight. Combining toughness, style and features like tech-org pockets and a zippered compartment that fits a 13” MacBook Pro, the MXD Fathom is the ideal bag for those who can take their work anywhere and crush it in style.
The most versatile bag in the MXD collection. It’s got the utility of a tote and the carrying capabilities of a pack – a super-tough 2-in-1 travel bag made for the city. With two quick access pockets in front and a zippered compartment that fits a 13” MacBook Pro, the MXD Pace is the ideal bag for daytrippers who work light.
