#StreetsofChrome: TRASHHAND – Elements

“Creativity is endless, but Chicago has left me in a particular way and a particular direction. But when I go to a new city, I’m so open to its environment, its culture, its architecture, its art, its people.”

TRASHHAND made his name by shooting unique perspectives of Chicago’s gritty streets, graffiti and abandoned spaces. When we invited him to come out to LA to hang out in DTLA, at the LA River and El Matador in Malibu, he jumped at the chance to get out of his element and to talk a little bit about how his style developed, nature versus the city and why he’s always checking for unlocked doors.

“One of the things that I love to do is to exercise my mind and my skill – but also throw people completely off. I love to to lead the way and try new things and challenge myself, and the community, to new things.”
