Recap: Ian Kose’s First Thursday @ Chrome Seattle

We had our First Thursday Art Walk with Ian Kose’s Steadfast collection. In Ian’s words, “Steadfast is a collection of images, ideas and memories that I was able to capture while embarking on a three-week long 3,500 mile motorcycle journey. The starting point was Seattle, Washington and the most southern point reached was just south-west of San Telmo, Baja California, Mexico. There were few expectations, few guarantees, and few, if any, regrets.”
“We were armed to the teeth with our skateboards and camping gear. Willing and able, determined to find ourselves, we hit the road with a sense of meaning and belonging. With no regard to outside opinions, we knew that this was our trip, and no matter how it came together or fell apart, no one was going to be able to take that away from us. I roared into the mountains, canyons, and deserts along side four of my best friends and realized that this was how to live, and that this feeling of relief was valid.”

The night started with art walk folks trickling in and out, excited about the photo gallery and free wine, but progressed with friends piling in by motorcycle and bike. This lead to more folks off the street coming in and talking about motorcycles, photography and other rad things. There were probably 60-70 people throughout the night and many who were excited about the idea of us doing this every month.

Hopefully we will see more and more people next time as the word gets out.
