The Spot Check Kilo: Chicago

#ChromeSpotCheck Kilo Contest: Chicago
Chi-town, get down. For our fourth Kilo we’re taking a trip to the Windy City and loading up this Kilo with TONS of rad stuff from the kids at Chrome Chicago. From donut shops to dive bars, skate spots to record stores, our favorite cities are full of spots that make them unique. To share some of our favorite spots (and stuff) from our favorite places, we started the #ChromeSpotCheck contest where we’ll be giving out a Treadwell Kilo packed full of rad stuff from the cities that inspire us. But sharing is a two-way street. To win one of these bad boys, all you have to do is get a dope pic of your favorite spot in your city, post it to IG with a little description of why it’s rad and the hashtag #chromespotcheck, follow us and you’re entered to win. On the last Friday of each month we’ll pick the best spot and award the packed out Kilo to the winner! Easy! Chrome Chi has been kicking out the jams in Wicker Park for over 6 years, throwing shows, photo exhibits and a legendary yearly game of SKATE where they clear the retail floor and let local skaters show their best stuff. Chrome Chicago manager Bob sent us a bunch of awesome gear from Chi Town: A Bag of Love Supreme House Blend Coffee from Dark Matter Coffee – An innovative culinary family fueled by community and passion to deliver the most intellectually honest coffee you will experience. Locals Only Chicago Pins from Saint Alfred Providing the best streetwear and footwear from around the world. Pin, Chicago Coozie & Tote Bag from Una Mae’s – Diverse & eclectic vintage and new apparel at the heart of Wicker Park. Chicago Flag Bandana, El Train Mug & Bike Patch from Transit Tees – An official manufacturer for the Chicago Transit Authority, Transit locally designs, fabricates and sells unique designs from their storefront in Wicker Park.

Coit Tower – San Francisco, CA

I picked Coit Tower not only because it’s probably one of the most unique places, it also remains one of the few unchanged places in the city. With its native parrots and haphazard infrastructure of steep dead-end streets and stacked staircases that lead to beautiful views of both bridges. It’s become an often overlooked spot due to the short demanding challenge that it takes to get there whether by bike or foot but usually a combination of both.

So what are you waiting for? Get out there and show us your favorite spots.
