CHI HUB – trashhand Photo Show

(Event photos by ya boy Optic.Legacy)

CHI HUB: trashhand’s #StreetsofChrome

Chicago. A city that stays on the grind. The Windy City’s urban photography community is no stranger to braving the elements so when it was time to show up for one of their own, they came out in force.

Whether you had 50 followers or 500k, the in-store photo exhibition with Chicago’s own trashhand assembled everyone from street photography heavyweights to up-and-comers. Sharing tips about navigating precarious footholds were as common as stories about sneaking (or running) away from security guards.

And then there’s the weather. It seems that the uglier the weather the more beautiful the shot. A recent snowstorm did not put a damper on the evening as friends and fans came out rocking cameras and a few Chrome bags to see a selection of trashhand’s recent favorites on display and check out the brand-new Niko F-Stop Pack. Chicago’s own Goose Island Brewing provided the beer and the Chicago Hub staff kicked in pizza and a playlist for the night.

We had a couple of laughs. Maybe a couple of beers, too…

Chi Hub manager Bob got the crowd rolling for a raffle of the Niko F-Stop and a signed print from trashhand. By the time he picked the first name the place was buzzing. The first ticket was a dud so he picked another. Again, not there. The place was nuts by the third ticket chosen. Lexi walked away with some fresh gear!

See you next time, Chi.
