HOBBIES: How did you get started sewing and making things? I taught myself to hand sew as a kid, followed by a series of sewing classes leading up to design school after high school.
What Chrome Customs project has been your favorite and why? The Salvage Bags have easily been my favorites to work on. They Offer more of a challenge, and make you really focus on what the best possible design elements are. Alex_bag2 alex_bag3 alex_bag1 Have you encountered any odd #ChromeCustoms bag requests? Has there ever been anything really crazy? I’ve had a handful of people ask me to make knife rolls.
What made you want to work at Chrome? How’d you get this Chrome Customs gig? I was drawn to Chrome, because it brought together two aspects of my life that are usually very separate: Fashion Design and Cycling. Additionally it is really important for me to work for a company that is sweatshop free, and resists the idea of fast fashion. Screen Shot 2014-10-21 at 4.03.10 PM
What’s your favorite off-the-shelf Chrome product and why? I really like the Ivan bag. It’s simple on the inside and perfect for grocery hauls, and going on trips.
What keeps you up at night? Everything. My mind is constantly racing between ideas, and things to come.
