Durable shoes, comfy to ride in, not waterproof, whatsoever.
Ah the Truk Storm. I got these shoes a couple weeks ago and now I''ve gotten to fully test them out - rain/snow on the bike, rain/snow on foot. They were pretty stiff/hard to break in due to the Storm lining, and the shoes fit extra snug due to this, so keep that in mind when sizing yourself. No matter, waterproof shoes with a solid sole for cycling? Perfect. The shoes actually ride great with platform pedals, but after today's snow in NYC, I am dismayed to learn that the waterproof technology doesn't really work (which was the reason I sprung the extra $ for the damn things). Light rainy ride was fine one morning on the road bike, but today's 30 minutes on the 29er, barely putting my feet down, and I come home to damp soles INSIDE the Truk Storms. The cordura was only about 5-10% saturated through at the toe cap area, but the front of the inner sole/footbed (ball of foot and up) was a swamp. Ankle area dry as a bone inside/out.. I mean snow isn't rain, but it also floats and isn't melting in this 10 degree weather, so I'm a bit surprised the shoes couldn't handle this.
