Fashion, not function
After three months of weekday use as a cycling commute shoe, I was disappointed to find that they were developing a hole in the sole. That was the end of their useful life for me, as I live in rainy Seattle and can't avoid stepping in puddles. They're hardly worth the hefty price tag, and while the nylon uppers are more durable than the cloth uppers of the Vans they imitate, there's no point to it when the soles are of such poor quality. The grey ones are also easily stained with dirty water. These shoes are strictly fashion, not function, for a cyclist.

Fashion Wins
I was initially disappointed with these shoes. I was used to riding with Kursks, which have a much thicker, grippier, more substantial sole. These shoes have slipped off my (platform) pedals while riding (which is scary), especially when it's wet out.
That being said, I never, ever wore my Kursks again. These shoes are waaaaay cuter, which somehow managed to win every time. They're also a LOT lighter, easier to carry around/stash places, and you can wear these in the summer without your feet sweating to death (like in Kursks), and with ankle socks.
They're also pretty comfy, once beyond the initial heel blister of breaking them in.
They've been my everyday shoe for at least 6 months, they look a little dirty and beat up, but they're not falling apart by any means.

perfect for toe cages / great shipping
I got a new road bike with toe cages and new I needed new shoes. I found these and decided to purchase them. I am normally a true size 10 and ordered half a size smaller, a 9.5, due to the item description, and I'm glad I did! The 9.5 fit perfectly. I also got a pair of the wool socks, size large, which were discounted when they went into my shopping cart! I placed my order at 8:30 am Wednesday, and by 11am Friday, my shoes and socks had arrived in Washington! With FREE SHIPPING. I am thrilled at the level of customer service Chrome has provided. As for the shoes, they fit perfect, they're nice and light, and they grip my pedals perfectly without too much tread causing my feet to be immobile (like my old shoes). Highly recommended.
