Tough Kicks

Our Forged Rubber™ Sneakers are the best city sneakers in the world. They're made by hand, one at a time, on 70-year-old machines we salvaged from Slovakia. The rubber is harvested from nearby rubber tree farms, fused directly onto our 12oz canvas upper at 300 degrees Fahrenheit, and will not delaminate—even at the flex point. We added our signature reflective heel and an antimicrobial sock liner with quick-dry contoured footbed for sockless summers and the occasional river crossing. Forged Rubber™ Sneakers look like sneakers, built like army boots.

I've had a few pairs of Mirko shoes (black/gum and blue/white). Oddly the black/gum doesn't fit as well as the blue/white of the same size 10.5 Mens US. I was worried that these Peshkas of the same size would be narrow also and not fit as well, but I was positively impressed! The distance between each lacing eye is rather longer compared to the Truk Pros, which allows for folks with wide feet (me!) to adjust it to be quite comfortable and not look like the laces are going to explode.

With the limited time I've had them (less than a few hours), their initial feel is quite comfy, especially with the lining these come with!

Hopefully these are the kinds of kicks that will last forever, like the pair of Chrome Midway red soles I've had since ~ 2010 -- Time will tell :)

First of the product would be exactly what I'm looking for but my primary issue is as follows:

I order there a couple weeks ago and got them quite quickly, which was great! The shoes themselves seemed sturdy and quite capable. However, according to the website the shoes "Footwear runs true to size" This however, I found to be false.

I have found that my foot size is between an 8.5 and a 9 size. I have hundreds of times been able to purchase size 9 and comfortably wear these in Converse, Nike, and other off-brand shoes. These shoes are significantly larger then those.

Now when I received the shoes I was in a rush to clean up my place since I was flying out of town. The shoe box wound up in the dumpster before I realized that the shoe was way to big for me. I decided to ask for an exchange (even offering to pay for whatever stocking fee would be needed to recoup the boxing costs) And was rejected.

The fact that the website is not accurate in sizing since these shoes run larger then they state and that they would not except an exchange means that their customer service is lacking.

Summary: Buy a half-size smaller and be sure not to lose the box since their customer service is terrible.

    well made, simple

These shoes are very basic in the their structural design...think Chuck Taylors, not high tech sneaker. I was a bit disappointed in the ergonomics of the fit...very simple. That said, the construction quality seems high, the soles feel indestructible. The sizes run a bit on the large side, I'm a solid 10, and the 10 is just long enough that it makes me drag a toe when I'm not paying attention. Also, the toe box is very round and wide...my feet have always rated out as average in width, but I find myself having to really cinch up the laces to keep my foot from swimming around laterally. I don't have any long term durability report since I don't wear these as much as anticipated due to the poor fit, but as said before, they seem like they'll be pretty bomb proof.

just got these shoes in the mail today. love them. They feel solid and I am assuming they'll break in quickly. They look great. The quality you can feel all over. There is a more solid power transfer to the pedals than with my normal sneakers. I hope that Chrome continues making this shoe with wool textile.

Great shoes but the grip wears off too quickly

This is a great shoe. It fits well and has enough support to let me do my job without becoming a burden when I ride. They are incredibly comfortable; the forged rubber adds a little cushion with each step. My only problem with this pair of shoes is that the grip on the underside of the sole wore off almost instantly. It rains frequently in New Orleans, so my feet slip off of my pedals far to frequently for me to feel in control.
