Fabric Spotlight

Merino Wool Merino Wool

Temperature regulating, moisture wicking, antibacterial, odor resistant. Merino wool is one of our favorite fabrics for urban bike gear. It’s warm enough to stand up to a chilly morning commute, breathes like technical performance gear and looks cool enough to wear all day.

I wear these socks all the time, they're a good medium weight and a size large on my 7.5 feet (after machine washing and drying) puts the elastic right over my ankle -- exactly where I want it.
Merino fabrics aren't as durable as synthetic (oil based! Sigh) fabrics, it's the price to pay for the comfort I guess. The nylon and wool blend combines the benefits of both merino and synthetics into a baller pair of socks.

I bought these socks for my son, who commutes by bike in Olympia where the winters are cold and wet and the summers can alternate between warm/humid and rainy. He wears wool socks all through the year, but he likes these for their ability to wick moisture and resist odor (which is kind of important since he works at a restaurant). The only problem with these socks is that they don't last very long. My kid says they're good for a season before they get holes in the toes and heels. Since they're pricey, he asks me to get them for him as birthday and Christmas gifts. Which is sad! Chrome, Mama is not made outta money. Make these socks more durable so they last at least a year.

Comments about Chrome No Show Merino Socks:

I'm thinking about purchasing this socks from Chrome. Normally, my feet size is 9. Should i go with M or L. By the way, does it shrink when put in washing machine?

Comments about No Show Merino Socks:

Got a pair of these when I got my new Kursk shoes. They are low-cut but still sit comfortably above the shoe (so no wear/blisters around the ankle), and they are wool, which means they stay warm even when wet. They are very comfortable as well, with no scratchiness that some wool-blends can have. Stoked on the purchase!
