Tough Kicks

Our Forged Rubber™ Sneakers are the best city sneakers in the world. They're made by hand, one at a time, on 70-year-old machines we salvaged from Slovakia. The rubber is harvested from nearby rubber tree farms, fused directly onto our 12oz canvas upper at 300 degrees Fahrenheit, and will not delaminate—even at the flex point. We added our signature reflective heel and an antimicrobial sock liner with quick-dry contoured footbed for sockless summers and the occasional river crossing. Forged Rubber™ Sneakers look like sneakers, built like army boots.

I'm a woman who commutes most days on flat pedals on both hybrid and road bikes, and I prefer a riding shoe with a stiff sole that blends in with everyday clothing. These fit the bill well, after I removed the stock insole and inserted my Specialized insole over another simple, foam insole; it's as close as I could get to a fit that I'd get with a shoe modeled on a women's last. The quality of the materials is very high and unlike any other shoe I've worn to ride. The sole, however, is the sticking point: as others have noted, the soles are dangerously slick in wet conditions (and I'm usually riding Wellgo pedals with pins!). And, the pins in my pedals are chewing up the soles - no surprise there. I really want to buy more Chrome shoes for riding, but I really, really need to have a pair that I can depend on in wet conditions with no hesitation. (A women-specific fit would be the ultimate, but I can adapt.)

    Comfy sneaks!

    Comments about Ishak Sneaker:

Very comfortable, and true to size. I have owned other shoes brands, in a similar style, that need to be laced tight to prevent heel-slip. Not these; even loosely tied, they fit well.

I usually walk in these. I like them more than the Kursk shoes based on the padding and arches. Glad I bought them.
