Form Meets Function

Named after the location of our first office in San Francisco, we designed these shorts in SF to work on the bike and off. A slimmer, shorter alternative to our legendary Union Shorts, we made the Folsom Shorts with a durable, water resistant Everest 4-way stretch material for comfort on the bike. With a reinforced crotch, seams and belt loops, an added u-lock holster and floating rear pockets to make the saddle more comfortable the Folsom Shorts are tricked out for crushing the streets (and hills) of our native San Francisco and anywhere else your bike takes you.

I absolutely love this pair of shorts. During a recent sale, I picked up a pair and considering the large number of miles I ride every week, they are perfect for the weather here in Arizona. About two months ago I picked up a pair of hiking shorts at Costco made from a similar stretchy material, but they had a snap button fly. Needless to say, the use of an actual button is a big deal and helps to keep me inside of my shorts. The size I normally wear is a 36, in fact I have a pair of Levi's 511 commuter shorts on that size and I need to wear a belt. These shorts from Chrome I also ordered in a 36, and albeit they are a little tight. Still, I had worn them for at least ten days without washing them and they don't smell at all. I can wear the Levi's and after two rides they feel. Sometimes it's worth paying the extra money and I no longer need to justify my reasons.

If you read the description you know what you're getting, slim and short. Not every cyclist has the thighs of a german track sprinter. But maybe sizing is a tad on the tight side. I'm usually a 31" waist and the folsom in 32" is snug at the waist. Every other 32" item I try on usually is pretty roomy. Length is perfect just above the knee on a guy with a 30" inseam. Good quality.

What doesn't work for me are the pockets. Pockets are too shallow and have no type of closure. I'd put money on losing something out of these pockets eventually. You'd think pocket depth or need for closure is something that would've been sorted out on a product as mature as cycling specific shorts.

These are the best shorts i've ever owned. Anyone who rides frequently knows bike seats real havoc on denim. These are built to last.

just got these on sale and they weren't kidding about ordering a size up. i'm a chubby 32 and it's nearly impossible to squeeze into them. they also ride a little shorter than just above the knee.

These shorts make my daily commuting comfortable and stylish. Even after wearing a pair everyday for a week they look and feel fresh. :) I do have 3 pairs though.
