Tough Kicks

Our Forged Rubber™ Sneakers are the best city sneakers in the world. They're made by hand, one at a time, on 70-year-old machines we salvaged from Slovakia. The rubber is harvested from nearby rubber tree farms, fused directly on to our 12oz canvas upper at 300 degrees Fahrenheit, and will not delaminate—even at the flex point. We added our signature reflective heel and an antimicrobial sock liner with quick-dry contoured footbed for sockless summers and the occasional river crossing. Forged Rubber™ Sneakers look like sneakers, built like army boots.

Let me start with the Pros. I purchased these shoes as an alternative to the van's slip-ons. These shoes are more comfy, stylish and safety minded (eye-catching reflective bit at the heel area) compared the the vans counterpart. I wear slash cycle in these shoes [almost] everyday and the canvas is very durable.

But the rubber sole and tread is a real problem...the sole/tread (arguably one of the more important facets of an everyday shoe) is not durable. After a few months, the tread was bald. I have a couple other friends who own the shoe -- same sentiment. So when the ground is wet, these slip on shoes are great if you want to slip across stone pavements...in otherwords make sure you hold the handrails going up and down wet steps. I mean sure, you should be wearing waterproof boots in wet conditions, but you can't always plan for that. I hate to say it but the Vans waffle-cup bottoms are far superior than these soles.

Because the aforementioned reasons, I would not recommend these shoes if you plan on wearing these shoes in wet conditions (rain or post-rain). But for all other conditions, these shoes absolutely rock! And for that reason, I I hope Chrome upgrades the sole for future models of this shoe...then I will be a Dima Sneaker fan forever.

I wanted to love these shoes and i do, dont get me wrong. However being hand made each shoe is a little different, these are only a month old and the left shoe has blown out the elastics from day 1, so one shoe is loose one is tight, also forged rubber is also soft rubber so in one month the bottoms are smooth no more traction, and pedal pins eat these shoes for breakfast. I had the prototype sf courier slip ons years ago that lasted longer than these will. look great as well, but id take durability over looks any day.

        Killer shoes

        By

These shoes are simply the best. I use them for everything- cycling, at work, walking around, when I want to look casual, when I want to look formal, and whenever I want to be comfortable. They're solid and durable with no signs of wear after 3 weeks of use. The only thing I would mention is they're a bit heavy which is probably the trade-off from being so durable. I have and plan on using these shoes every day, no matter what I'm up to.

        Easiest Shoe Ever

As far as I'm concerned, there are 2 shoes in this world. The Adidas Samba, and the Chrome Dima. Onitsuka Tiger's are up there too, but for the sake of conversation we'll keep it simple.

I have a choice each morning: Either grab my 10 year old Samba's (or Tigers), sit down, and tie both up. Or walk up to my Dima's and just slip them on. I have the original light grey ones (fwiw)

Most people see them and don't think twice, subdued, which is how I like it. But, every girl who "thinks they're in school for fashion" always stops to say how much they like them. Which must mean something positive about how they look.

I ride with clipons, but if I'm going less than a mile or so, these will work fine on my speedplays, so the tacky rubber does work.

The insoles are washable in the washing machine and dryer to keep them from getting stinky.

And as soon as the black one go on sale, I'll be buying a pair of those too. I wear a 12 (hint, hint chrome) and they fit perfect to size.

If you're on the fence about them, get them. You'll love'em.

When it's Casual Friday and my Mirkos just aren't chill enough, I turn to my trusty Dimas to keep my feet relaxed but still ready to go all in.
