Life on the move

Since 1995

Almost 30 years ago, we started working on better carry options for hardworking bike messengers around the world. Dissatisfied with the status quo, we got an idea: if seatbelt buckles are built to save lives, they’re tough enough for our bags. So, we pulled an Oldsmobile buckle from a junkyard, sewed it on an industrial-strength messenger, and Chrome was born.

The Iconic Messenger

Born of a need for functional gear, durable enough to withstand fast-paced life on the move, the Citizen Messenger burst onto the scene. Our signature seat belt buckle, with its easy one-click release, quickly became the go-to bag for bike messengers around the world.

From Messengers to Backpacks

With years of street-tested experience under our belts, we continued to pursue new and versatile ways to carry better. Inspired by military tie down straps, the Barrage Cargo backpack was designed with an external cargo net, allowing secure attachment for extra gear - like a helmet or shoes.

Just the Essentials

Built for the essentials, the Kadet Sling was designed with the same durability and quick access functionality of our larger messengers but made for smaller carry. To this day it remains one of our best-selling options for quick errands or all day adventures.
